The purpose of this volunteer role is to support the Team Chaplains in providing Spiritual and Religious Care to all patients, families, carers, visitors and staff within the Trust.

The role will include:

  • Listening and appropriately responding to patients, families and staff with their various emotional, spiritual and religious needs.
  • Unconditionally valuing each person and respecting the views, beliefs and position of all people regardless of their gender, ethnicity, religiosity or sexual orientation within the hospital rules of confidentiality and care.
  • Being a good team player with a positive outlook and sensitive approach to people and situations, particularly those experiencing ill health and/or hospitalisation.
  • Visiting agreed wards or other locations on a regular basis
